Emergency Cold in Houston - How To Protect Our Own

Pimp This Bum is heading out tonight to provide emergency help to the local homeless. We have not seen weather this cold since I was 5 years old, which means many of the homeless (veterans or not) will likely be unprepared for these low temperatures. Tim Edwards (he is the expert) and I made a list of items we are encouraging as donations:
-Heavy Large Trash Bags (many uses - preventing wind chill is one)
-Warm Socks
-Beanies
-Hoodies
-Gloves that cover the wrist
-Scarfs
-Cans of soup (pop-top - no can opener needed) with plastic spoon taped to side
-Bottle Water

If we find any homeless who are wet, we will be putting them up in a hotel for the night. It's hard to bounce back from cold & wet. Donations are accepted on the site and all incoming monetary donations sent today will be used for this trip downtown and others we will be taking over the next few days.

Thanks so much for all PTB does to help those in need.  The humanitarian efforts and contributions are greatly appreciated and goes to show what kind of impact one idea can have when sacrifices are made.  Never one to turn away or turn down, Sean, Tim, the Dolan Family, and the many contributors to PTB Foundation is changing America one day at a time.  Proud to be able to spread the word and tell all I know all about pimpthisbum.com, and can't wait to see it explode all over the world.  Thanks Sean, Tim, and everyone who has given their all in combating homelessness within of our society.  And bringing it to the forefront for all those to see firsthand.  May we never forget and always keep extending those hand ups to all of those in need who want to return and be a productive member of society.
